The event took place Thursday, May 17 at the Middletown Motel, according to Wallkill Police Chief Robert Hertman.

Officers Dane Wakefield and Octavio Falto arrested Paul Alexander, 57, of Rock Hill, after an investigation led to the discovery of the more than four ounces of heroin, the chief said.

"That amount is certainly more than a person would have for personal use," the chief added.

Alexander was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
